Beam are pleased to announce their partnership with the new Music & Sound Awards which are the UK’s first awards to recognize the indispensable role and outstanding contribution that music and sound design brings to the world of visual media.

Music and Sound is aimed at professionals working in advertising, film, television and gaming, and is open to those involved in the creation, composition, sourcing, licensing, briefing or production of music and sound design for the world of visual media.

The awards were conceived by Nick Payne of The Works, one of London’s leading music production companies and Dan Neale, Head of Music at RKCRY&R.

Dan Neale underlines “We welcome everybody involved in production to celebrate the role of music and sound design within their finished work. One could argue that music and sound make up at least 50% of the overwhelming majority of visual media, yet there just wasn’t enough recognition. Can you imagine a hamlet cigar commercial without Bach’s Air on a G String, a Film or TV programme without its score or a video game without sound effects? The music and sound design industry is thriving in all areas of the media and its incredible talent deserves celebration and recognition.”

Colin Avery, Head Beam awards explains: “Music and Sound is an incredibly exciting awards show to be involved with. Its originality and uniqueness in being the only dedicated music and sound show makes it very fresh and a great challenge for us”.

The Music & Sound Awards 2012 has already attracted sponsorship from an impressive list of industry names including: EMI Records, Universal Records, Warner Chappell, Kobalt, Bucks Music, Peer Music, Imagem, Cutting Edge Music Group, The Works, Eclectic Music, Mcasso, JG Music, Yellow Boat Music, 2110, A-Bomb, Beetroot, Soundlounge, The Sync Agency, Woodwork Music, Scramble, Wave, Factory, The Jungle Group, 750mph, Angell Sound, SNK Studios.
